Due
to a remarkable number of feedbacks, the Foreign Literature
publications and the Chinese International Pictorial Book
Trading Company decided to increase its current printings
on the photographic albums that were created by the Beijing
ShiXin Marketing Company titled “The Invisible forbidden
city” and “The Invisible Great Wall”.
The “Invisible” series has caused quite a stir within
the photographical community. In the age of globalization,
the two albums has also became an excellent gift for the
portrayal of Chinese Culture to the outside world.
The brilliant photographic series is entirely created
Mr. Li Shao Bai. Mr. Li describes that his style of photography
could be dissected into four characteristics. The first
involves rarity: photos or scenes that are hard to come
by such as a work photographing the sunset from the roof
of The Forbidden City.
The second is transforming from complexity to simplicity:
This involves taking photographs of the simple things
that sometimes we choose to neglect; it is through these
photos that we begin to see order and complexity.
The Third would be transforming what you see to you want
to see. The photographic works often reflects what the
audience wanted to see, and in real fact, it is what you
see as well, turning Reality into Art and Art into Reality.
Finally, reflecting what you see into what you cannot
see. A good photograph should not only reflect the object
or its illumination level but the meaning behind the photograph
as well. The photographer needs to express its emotions
and passion to the audience as a result. According to
Mr. Li, even though he has works that reflects all four
stages, however, most of his works reflects the first
two stages, while it is the latter two that are hard to
come by.
